Omaha Transit Authority Private CNG Station
The introduction of CNG for Omaha Transit marks a turning point toward more sustainable fueling options for the agency, which was seeking to diversify its fuel portfolio to reduce emissions, improve fuel efficiency, and better respond to market changes.
To make natural gas vehicles accessible to Omaha Transit, KALM Energy partnered with Creighton University and the Metropolitan Utilities District (MUD) to install a private fueling station near the Metro transit facility. This has allowed a growing number of Metro buses and vans, powered by natural gas, to enter their fleet since 2018. |
